Abstract

“Psychoanalysis and group psychoanalysis will not be able to survive if what is being done and how well it is done cannot not be proven.” According to this statement a research project has been installed in a difficult ten years discussion for the GruppenanalyseSeminare (GRAS). A report of the experiences and reflections show the difficulties for such research from the side of the analysts, their ambivalence to empirical research, their tendencies to cover themselves and the discussion of appropriate research methods. The rights of the clients are compared against these tendencies. A new critical understanding is necessary which includes feedback of results. At present there are 105 groups included in the research.
