Psychotherapeutic interventions in patients with malignant lymphomas
Abstract
Malignant lymphoma comprise 2.3% of all tumors; recent studies suggest the second highest increase in the rate of all types of tumors. Up to now relatively few psychooncological studies focus on malignant lymphoma compared to other types of cancer such as breast cancer. Here we report our experiences with a liaison and consultation service for patients with malignant lymphomas. 47 of 66 patients received psychotherapy. Crisis interventions and supportive therapy were the main settings. Preliminary results concerning coping of patients with malignant lymphomas are conducted from the experiences with psychotherapy.
