Abstract

Possibilities and problems in establishing a psychotherapeutical-liaison-model at a University hospital are described. Founded on previous experiences with mental health services we developed modified forms of cooperation between psychotherapists and clinical specialists such as interdisciplinary meetings with patients and patients' relatives to discuss diagnosis and further treatment and structured interdisciplinary group-therapy programs for the treatment of patients suffering from special diseases.

We discuss the requirements on the part of the psychotherapists and the psychotherapeutic institution, which offers the liaison-service, as well as on the part of the department, where the CL-service takes place. Typical difficulties which occur at the introduction of such services and interactive problems in the cooperation in the liaison-work are focused on.

Dr. Wolfgang Söllner ist Facharzt für Psychiatrie und Neurologie und Psychotherapeut und als Stellvertreter des Vorstands an der Univ.-Klinik für Medizinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie Innsbruck tätig. Er leitet den psychotherapeutischen Konsiliar-Liaisondienst an dieser Klinik. und hat Lehrbuchbeiträge und wissenschaftliche Arbeiten zu psychosomatischen Problemstellungen und zur psychotherapeutischen Arbeit im Krankenhaus (im speziellen zum Liaisondienst) veröffentlicht.
