On the structure of depth psychological teaching doctrines

Abstract

It is proposed to unfold a structural blueprint of depth psychological teaching doctrines as basis of scientific position finding of psychotherapy according to different schools. The purpose of this structural blueprint is to analyse, investigate, compare and discuss terms and theories of these teaching doctrines without constraining them a priori into patterns incompatible to their nature. The structural blueprint is represented by five hypotheses. They deal with depth psychological teaching doctrines as science of the subject, with its unconscious psychic self-achievements for strategies of perception and action, with the subjects’ existential relations and their link to motives; eventually with the method of selfrelated reflection as a mean to clarify the subject’s understanding of the world and himself. So-called structural formulas present the logical core of depth psychological teaching doctrines.
