Solution Focussed Therapy
Abstract
The paper intends to give a first impression and overview to Solution Focussed Therapy (SFT) to the appreciated reader. Starting with the influences on Solution Fokussed Therapy by the work of M. H. Erickson, the first part of the paper focusses on the historical background of the development of SFT. The second part outlines the basic assumptions and guidelines of the model in practice, while the last part delineates possible theoretical models for the explanation and foundation of the proceeding. In conclusion questions concerning the fitting with alternative therapy-concepts as well as the mental health policy will be discussed.
