Diagnostic criteria for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD) and consequences for therapeutic interventions
Abstract
Different kinds of traumatization and victimization cause similar psychophysiological reactions and characteristic changes of personality which may finally result in a so called Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which is basically characterized by psychic fragmentation and corresponding phenomena of disintegration. The psychotherapeutical approach to PTSD considers its specifity by using appropriate methods and by its orientation on certain „guide-lines“ for first-aid-interventions and therapy as well as on characteristic psychodynamic phenomena. These topics are subject of this paper.
