Operationalized Psychodynamic Diagnostics (OPD) -a new diagnostic tool for psychotherapeutic practice and research
Abstract
The system of “Operationalized Psychodynamic Diagnostics - OPD ” was developed for application in psychotherapeutic practice, teaching and research. The system was created since the beginning of the nineties by a working group of mostly psychodynamically, partly also cognitive-behaviorally oriented clinicians and researchers and is intensely discussed in german speaking countries. This paper describes the process of the development of the system, its historical background and the actual state of its use in the clinical field, in psychotherapeutic training, and in research.
