Movement and meaning - Vital chances for therapeutic communication

Abstract

Movement can be perceived and analized as a significant representative means, aided by Stern’s concept of “vital conturs”. In broadening “affect attunement" by an active movement dimension, signifi-cant meaning can be shaped in a dialogue of “dynamic-rhythm actions ” together with the client I patient. This concept being explicated in recurring on modern infant research and Lichtenbergs motivational theory, is exemplified by a vignette from Analytic Movement- and Dance Therapy.

Sabine Trautmann-Voigt, Dr. phil., Psychologische und Kinder- und Jugendlichenpsychotherapeutin, Tanztherapeutin (ADTR, USA), seit 1989 in ambulanter Praxis tätig. Leitung des Deutschen Instituts für tiefenpsychologische Tanztherapie und Ausdruckstherapie (DITAT). Herausgeberin der „Zeitschrift für Tanztherapie-KörperPsychotherapie“. Lehrbeauftragte am psychologischen Institut der Universität Bonn und an der Heilpädagogischen Fakultät der Universität Köln.
