Genesis of chronic pain through the interplay of neuroplastic reorganization and psychodynamics
Abstract
Chronic pain can induce chronic pain disorder which is fundamentally different qualitatively from acute pain. To understand this disorder, neurophysiological findings are equally important as psychodynamic considerations. The present article outlines the interplay of these factors, stressing the outstanding role of the body schema, i.e., the totality of sensorimotor automatisms.Key words:
