A scientific practice without a scientific concept is possible. However, the scientific concept of a particular science constitutes and clarifies the self-understanding of this science. The purpose of my article is the presentation and discussion of the concept of psychotherapy science. This deviates from the generally accepted concept of science: it involves the subjective, focuses on the individual and recognizes contradictions and ambivalences as factors of scientific knowledge. I want to show how, in spite of these deviations, a correspondence between the concept of psychotherapy and the generally recognized conception of science is possible.Downloads
