Quality management in further education offered in psychotherapeutic training: Results of the periodic examination among the members of the Swiss Charter for Psychotherapy
Abstract
The Swiss Charter for Psychotherapy has been pursuing for many years the advancement of high quality standards for the further training in psychotherapy, for the ethics of profession and of further training and for scientificness. To secure the quality the commission for quality control checks all members for the observance of the standards and for the realization of the continuous decisions of the meetings of the members. In this article the procedures of the controlling are described, the results are compared with those of the first round of checking six years ago, and it is shown that the institutions of the Charter as a rule keep what they have promised. With this reliability they are important partners in the legislation of the cantons and the state. The described procedure, the strength of which lies in the direct communication between the examinators and the representatives of the institutes, has been and is well received, and it is apt to give impulses for the further improvement of quality, particularly that of the developing quality survey of processes as well as results.
