Quality management in psychodynamic psychiatry between cost reduction and becoming professional

Abstract

In view of the fact that economic resources in the health system are generally becoming more scarce, psychiatric departments are called upon to account for the quality of their professional work The authors describe various quality assurance measures practiced in psychodynamic psychiatry, the core element of which is group work in a multiprofessional team. They point out the parallels of this theoretically supported concept in reference to findings in other nonrelated economic fields and conclude that the only sensible approach for assessing the quality of professional work from an economic perspective is the conduction of scientific evaluation research.

Susanne Metzner

Prof. Dr. Susanne Metzner, Diplom-Musiktherapeutin, Kinder- und Jugendlichen-Psychotherapeutin (PTG), Psychotherapeutin (HPG). Seit 1991 Dozentin am Institut für Musiktherapie der Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. Seit 1994 Vorsitzende des Berufsverbandes der Musiktherapeutinnen und Musiktherapeuten in Deutschland e.V. Seit April 2001 Vertretungsprofessorin für Musiktherapie an der Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal, FB Sozial- und Gesundheitswesen. Freiberufliche Tätigkeit als Musiktherapeutin und Supervisorin. Publikationen mit Schwerpunkt „psychoanalytische Musiktherapie “. Mitbegründerin des Improvisationsensembles GRUPPE TONFALL, Konzertauftritte.

Theo Piegler

Dr. Theo Piegler, Arzt für Psychiatrie, Psychotherapie, Neurologie und Psychotherapeutische Medizin ist seit 1988 als Chefarzt der Abteilung für Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie des Bethesda -Allgemeines Krankenhaus gGmbH in Hamburg-Bergedorf tätig. Sein Interesse gilt der psychodynamischen Psychiatrie. Hierzu gibt es von ihm eine Reihe einschlägiger Publikationen. Er ist Mitbegründer der norddeutschen Arbeitsgemeinschaft für psychodynamische Psychiatrie (NAPP) und Dozent der Arbeitsgemeinschaft für integrative Psychoanalyse, Psychotherapie und Psychosomatik Hamburg e.V. (APH).
