(Parents) weal and (child) woe in visiting contacts: effects of contact arrangements on the developmental facilitation of traumatized children
Abstract
Summary: The arrangements of contact of early traumatized children who are accommodated outside the family of origin, often do not take into account the resulting problems for all involved. An appropriate decision based on the child's welfare requires an individual analysis of the situation. Hitherto existing regulations urge the replacement caregivers often in a position where they are forced to become evildoers, and the helping systems are in a quandary. It is proposed to regulate the visiting contacts using the general dialectical change model for the treatment of traumatic disorders by G. Fischer.
Keywords: the child’s contact with the parents, visiting contact, foster placement, early traumatized children, biological parents, substitute caregivers, general dialectical variation model, attachment, child welfare
