Integrative Cognitive Behaviour therapy
Abstract
Dr. Harlich Stavemann interviewed by Theodor Itten
Dr. Stavemann has been based in Hamburg for over 35 years working actively as a psychotherapist. During the interview, the author of many text books relating to diverse themes in the field of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy tells about what personally motivated him and influenced his decision to become a psychologist and psychotherapist. The diagnostic concept, in terms of the Integrated Cognitive Behavioural therapists’ approach, is illustrated in a differentiated way. The problem areas of typical cognitive patterns, concepts, schemata or meta-cognition are critically reflected on as behavioural and experiential reactions in concrete life situations. Behavioural therapists monopolising of academic psychology was a central theme. New neuropsychological insights enrich psychotherapy and Integrative Cognitive Behavioural therapy.
