Abstract
(Psycho-)therapy is discussed under the perspective of market relations. This changes the patient into a client. Therapy becomes part of the daily life. This encreases the expectations on therapy. Therapy itself becomes a specific brand in the market competition. The client achieves more responsibility concerning his therapy choice, whereas he still is in need of help. The psychotherapist follows the ethical perspective and at the same time appears as (representative of) a specific brand.
